At this year’s NI Farming Awards, the 2024 Royal Ulster Premier Beef & Lamb Championships was crowned as the Farming Event of the Year.
This award was introduced by event organisers, the Farming Life and Farm Week, to recognise impactful and engaging events that support the wider farming community in Northern Ireland.
Speaking on behalf of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society, Group Operations Director Rhonda Geary remarked, “What a night we’ve had here at the Crown Plaza! We are so delighted to receive this award on behalf of the volunteers, sponsors and staff who have worked tirelessly to raise our Championships to new heights.
“We would like to dedicate this award though to our exhibitors and the hard-working farmers who always strive to ensure we only have the finest local food on our tables every day”.
Now entering its eighth year, the Championships have evolved into an event not to be missed for those in the commercial beef and lamb industries. A true celebration of the finest stock from across the province, the elite show and sale not only recognises excellence within the ring but ensures that local producers receive outstanding prices for their stock on the day.
Pictured at the event were RUAS staff joined by Deputy President David Cunningham, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Beef & Lamb Committee, Willie McElroy and Nigel Hamill.
