About Us
The Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) has been at the forefront of the agricultural industry and rural life in Northern Ireland for over 170 years.
Originally established under the title of the North East Agricultural Association of Ireland, today the Society is a registered charity which comprises of over 2,000 members who seek to support and promote Northern Ireland’s prestigious agricultural heritage and promising future.
OUR CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES
Since it’s formation in 1854, the Society’s charitable objectives have been to improve the quality of agricultural enterprises across Northern Ireland by sharing best practice through agricultural shows and exhibitions. The Society also aims to support the promotion of Industries, Art, Science and Literature where possible.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To position the Society as a forward looking, inclusive and resilient organisation that promotes the agri-food industry by showcasing excellence, innovation and best practice in farming and food.
The Society aims to inspire and inform current and future generations, advancing appreciation of the sector and its role in supporting the environment and rural communities.
We support excellence in livestock husbandry and food production through competitions and events as we embrace future challenges and opportunities.
