GUIDE TO THE SOCIETY'S STRUCTURE
The Society has multiple Committees which provide expert knowledge and experience in how our charity is run. This can incorporate everything from organising the Society’s governance and administration to its flagship Shows, popular competitions and capital works across the Balmoral Park showgrounds.
The Council as a body corporate has overall responsibility for ensuring that the Society delivers its charitable objectives, has an appropriate system of management controls and that it abides to relevant laws and regulations.
The Finance Committee has a range of delegated duties from Council and regularly reviews the Society’s financial position, future financial projections, risk management and the Society’s strategic plans. After careful consideration, proposals on important issues are brought back to Council for approval.
The Nomination Committee is made up of the Chairs from the list of Committees below. This panel recommend the elevation of members of Council to the senior positions within the Society and nominates Council representatives to join the various Committees. These are Society members who have been elected to the Council by its membership, who excel in their area of expertise and show particular enthusiasm for getting involved in progressing the Society’s charitable aims.
