A message from the President;
As the gates close on the 157th Balmoral Show, I wanted to take a few moments, on behalf of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society, to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone who played their part in what has been a truly fantastic week.
The Balmoral Show is far more than a four-day event. It is the result of months of planning, preparation and hard work by an enormous number of people and organisations, all coming together to showcase the very best of agriculture, food, rural life, business and community spirit.
Thank you to our exhibitors and competitors within the livestock, equine and show jumping classes as well as our faithful trade stands, entertainment, food and catering specialists.
Congratulations to all our champions, prize winners and competitors across every section of the Show. To our sponsors and partners, thank you for your valued and continued support. Lending your names and presence to the largest agri-food event in the country only helps us to lift our industry even higher.
To our judges and voluntary stewards, the time, expertise and professionalism you bring to the Show only add further prestige to this long-standing event and it's champions.
The quality of the Show also wouldn't be what it is today without our partner agencies and contractors. From the cleaning and security staff to our those ensuring our infrastructure and logistics support are only of the highest standard, your work does not go unnoticed and is essential to delivering an event of this scale.
To our members, thank you for your ongoing support of the Society throughout the year. To our staff, whose commitment, professionalism and countless hours of work before, during and after the Show make everything possible, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes.
Finally I'd like to thank our visitors for their incredible support, enthusiasm and encouragement. The atmosphere across the Showgrounds over the four days was simply tremendous.
Without every single one of these groups — and I have probably missed some, for which I apologise — the Balmoral Show simply could not and would not happen.
Northern Ireland continues to punch well above its weight, and Balmoral Show remains a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and showcase the very best of our agri-food industry, our rural communities and our people.
I hope everyone leaves with many happy memories, new friendships and renewed pride in all that we do.
Regards
David
