The Royal Ulster Agricultural Society is delighted to welcome Magheramorne Estate as a Corporate Member.

While many Society members may know the estate as a leading hospitality and events venue, its story is one rooted in farming, family enterprise and a willingness to innovate.

Set within 42 acres of woodlands and gardens overlooking the Antrim coast, Magheramorne Estate is a Victorian country estate that has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. Acquired by the Allen family in 2020, the estate has been carefully restored and reimagined as a destination for weddings, corporate events, visitor experiences and private celebrations.

The family's connection to hospitality stretches back more than 35 years through Jane's Kitchen, one of Northern Ireland's best-known catering businesses. What many people may not realise is that the business began on the family farm, where founder Jane Allen first developed the food-led approach that continues to shape the company today. That heritage remains central to everything the estate does, with food, hospitality and warm welcomes at the heart of the guest experience.

Today, Magheramorne Estate hosts exclusive weddings, corporate retreats, conferences, private parties and special events, welcoming guests from across Ireland, the UK and beyond. With 35 ensuite bedrooms, the estate offers organisations and private clients the opportunity to create bespoke experiences in a unique setting.

Food continues to be one of the estate's defining features. The in-house culinary team creates everything from fine dining menus and afternoon teas to large-scale corporate hospitality and seasonal dining experiences, drawing on local suppliers and the expertise developed through decades of catering events throughout Northern Ireland.

Like many rural businesses, Magheramorne Estate has embraced diversification. Alongside its core events business, the estate has developed a growing programme of visitor experiences designed to attract new audiences and encourage tourism to the area. Among these is Magic & Mistletoe, a large-scale Christmas experience that welcomes thousands of visitors annually and has quickly become a festive tradition for many families. In 2026, the estate also launched the Magheramorne Literary Festival, bringing together leading authors, broadcasters and thinkers for a weekend of discussion, debate and entertainment. Both events demonstrate how historic rural estates can evolve to meet changing visitor expectations while preserving their unique character.

Whether welcoming families for a festive day out, businesses for a strategy retreat, or guests celebrating life's biggest milestones, Magheramorne Estate is ultimately about bringing people together. By combining heritage, hospitality, sustainability and innovation, the estate has created a modern rural business that celebrates its agricultural roots while embracing new opportunities.

The team would be delighted to welcome fellow RUAS members to experience the estate for themselves and discover how this historic corner of the Antrim coast continues to evolve while staying true to the values on which it was built.
