At the recent CAFRE Bursary Awards on Tuesday 3rd March, the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society was delighted to sponsor a £1,500 bursary awarded to Foundation Degree Horticulture student Pierce Clarke.
Ian Duff represented the RUAS on the day to present Pierce with his award.
After beginning a career in Engineering Services, Pierce is making a career change to follow his interest in horticulture and plant science.
He had previously completed a Level 3 Horticulture Course at CAFRE and hopes to further his interest in Plant Science and Breeding through further study. The funding from this bursary is intended to support his career development in horticultural production, including the potential to visit innovative businesses abroad.
Pierce will be supporting the stewards in the Horticulture Hub Pavilion during the 2026 Balmoral Show so please feel free to speak to him there.
Congratulations Pierce.
