Awards season across Northern Ireland is well underway, and the RUAS was delighted to recently be shortlisted for two awards across the agricultural and digital marketing sectors.

Northern Ireland Social Media Awards

On Saturday 5th October representatives from the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society attended the 2024 Northern Ireland Social Media Awards at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

The 2024 Balmoral Show was shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of Social Media in Tourism’ award whereby the team provided evidence of how we have positively impacted the local agritourism industry, attracted visitors and created memorable guest experiences through our social media channels. Whilst the team weren’t successful this time their marketing campaign highlighted creativity, high user engagement and an excellent representation of agritourism in Northern Ireland.

NI Farming Awards

On Wednesday 9th October representatives from the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society joined leaders in the agri-food industry at the first ever NI Farming Awards in Belfast hosted by Farming Life and the Farm Week.

This year the RUAS was shortlisted within the new ‘Farming Society of the Year’ category which was launched to recognise the valuable contribution that clubs and societies make to the farming community. Although the RUAS didn’t win this year, the Society was delighted to be recognised for its innovative plans for a very bright future.

The Society would like to congratulate staff member Karen Hughes who was shortlisted for the ‘Unsung Hero’ award which recognises exceptional individuals who consistently go above and beyond their duty, as well as Council members Alexandra Woods who was shortlisted for the ‘Farm Diversification Award’ and Jayne Harkness-Bones who was shortlisted for the ‘Innovation in Agriculture’ award.

These individuals alongside their fellow members who were nominated and successful are what continues to make the Society so special, and we commend you all on of your exceptional work within agriculture.
